Abstract sculpture, Dhaka

Most of the traffic islands in Dhaka are adorned with sculptures of sorts. We came across this unique one, that looked more or less like a ball and stick model of a chemical molecule, at a traffic intersection near Dhanmondi.

The state of affairs

The problem of encroachment of riverine systems in Bangladesh comes in plain view as we fly over Buriganga river, just as our aircraft makes the final approach in to Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, sometime in mid September last year.
