Abstract sculpture, Dhaka

Most of the traffic islands in Dhaka are adorned with sculptures of sorts. We came across this unique one, that looked more or less like a ball and stick model of a chemical molecule, at a traffic intersection near Dhanmondi.

The state of affairs

The problem of encroachment of riverine systems in Bangladesh comes in plain view as we fly over Buriganga river, just as our aircraft makes the final approach in to Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, sometime in mid September last year.

Taken with the Panasonic G1 and the Lumix 14-45mm Vario lens, the picture has been converted to B&W on LR using a Fuji Neopan B&W preset.

As the evening approached, we were treated to this fantastic display of colors of the sunset.

The Listener

A little girl walked up to the guitarist during an impromptu concert and stood still with rapt attention throughout the concert.
