Making the best of a balmy morning | Sigma 10-20mm

With the temperatures nearing the 40s and humidity touching the 90s, we went on a jaunt to the club today morning to recce the club pool and make plans for a regular dip on weekends.

Post the recce, we sat down in the south verandah to enjoy a nice English breakfast.

In motion : Experiments with the Nikon 18-200 VR

Where do you expect to see a horse drawn carriage racing down a side street during a thunder storm?

I was trying to take some pictures of the dark clouds when suddenly I saw the carriage racing down our street. The D300 was already set at 1600 ASA and was on aperture priority mode. I could manage just one shot as the carriage raced under the street light.

White, Green and Yellow

Someone brought in a bouquet of small white flowers today morning and I spied them lying on the dining table while I was actually waking up with my post-breakfast coffee.

This is the result of the quick series of photos I took with the Nikon D300 and the Micro Nikkor 60mm AFD. Ambient reflected light @ 200 ASA Spot metered at 1/500s and f4.

A floating hibiscus

I am sure that people will laugh if I said that this picture is directly off the camera. But it is and I seriously do not have a clue as to how the background has overexposed to a smooth white. The D300 was on the spot metering mode and I had metered the center of the hibiscus.

Anyway, it came out to be a rather interesting shot!
