Goodbye

Its been a week and it is still difficult to come to terms that my friend is no more. I met him last on the 8th of July before I traveled and wished him well.

I knew that the prognosis was not good. His cancer had spread and the doctors had discontinued the chemotherapy and had started palliative medication. I still hoped that I would meet him again in September, during my trip home. But that was not to be. He left us at 6.00 am on the 22nd of July.

The picture is of the last road trip to Nah'riya in January 2015.

Traveling Monks

Calcutta Airport. Sunday morning 12 am. Thailand bound Buddhist monks traveling with tons of baggage, a rare sight, since I have seen them travel always with, well, almost nothing.

The drive

It seems eerie that for that 40 km drive through the desert, the only traces of civilization were a few camels farms, a single horse corral and a rare truck or car that passed us.

Lion Dance

The inebriated Lion has no clue that the other are eyeing his cask of whisky. I never knew that the main theme of the Lion Dance was booze related : )

Take Off 2

This is the preceding frame to the earlier picture. I have a feeling that this is a much better shot to the shot I had posted earlier.

The flight preceding us in the queue takes off at the Hamad International Airport at Doha, Qatar.
