A Marriage in HDR

A marriage at Sarbamangala Kalibari in Bardhaman. A short cut and a cheaper route compared to the elaborate Bengali marriage ceremonies.

Experiments in HDR - Egypt circa 2008

Continuing my experiments with HDR photography.

A view from the 26th floor balcony of the Ramses Hilton. The Nile, the 6th October Bridge and the pyramids in the distance. Hosni Mubarak was still the President and Egypt was teeming with tourists from all over the globe.

Shot in early May 2008 with a Canon 400D and the kit zoom.

Experiments with HDR - Al Fateh Grand Mosque, Bahrain

Continuing with my experiments with HDR images, this is a HDR image of the inner courtyard of the Al Fateh Grand Mosque in Bahrain.

The picture was taken in the summer of 2009 with a Nikon D200 and an 18-55 kit zoom.

My first experiment with HDR

A priest at the Sarbamangala Kalibari in Bardhaman.

The original image looked a bit flat as it was shot in the searing noon sun.

Converted to a HDR image in Luminance HDR. Not very difficult unlike what the pundits on the net have warned about using Luminance HDR. The total learning curve was about 20 minutes to  get this image.

Looks different to what I am used to, but interesting none the less.

Taken with the Nikon D300 and the Nikon 18-200 VR.

Bohurupee, Sarbamangala Kalibari | Nikon 18-200mm VR

Had been on a long trip yesterday to Burdwan to attend a wedding.

The bohurupee at Sarbamangala Kalibari, dressed as a monkey, was collecting money from visitors and devotees.

The Accompanist

The National Brother's Concert at the Calcutta School of Music.

The intense concentration of the accompanist on the tanpura is evident as he plays along Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra singing Hindustani classical music.

Pt. Vijay Kichlu of the Kichlu Brother's fame inaugurated the concert.
